This is a delta 3D printer completely built and designed from scratch to my specific specifications.
Why a delta
Instead of XYZ rods, delta printers support the extruder with three arms attached to three vertical posts arranged in a triangle. Moving the effector this way allows for higher print speeds than a conventional Cartesian frame.
